No overloading with the MultiPlus II thanks to PowerControl and PowerAssist
As long as electricity is flowing from the PVA, generator or land line, the storage units of the MultiPlus II 48/5000/70-50 are charging. But not at random, otherwise the power grid would quickly collapse due to the high output of the device, but intelligently: The PowerControl function of the MultiPlus II permanently monitors how much energy is supplied and consumed; the batteries only draw on the difference.
However, the MultiPlus II 48/5000/70-50 also uses other sensors: The PowerAssist function monitors the grid for voltage peaks, as these can also lead to failures, even if the shore power or PVA is supplying energy. If a voltage peak occurs when starting up machinery or commissioning large electrical appliances, the MultiPlus II reacts immediately and supplies the required energy from its reserves.
Thanks to PowerControl and PowerAssist, a blackout, no matter how short or long, only occurs in the most extreme exceptional situations.
On the grid in 20 milliseconds with MultiPlus II 48/5000/70 50 and UPS function
It's the reaction time that counts. Because if there is a voltage drop and the charger takes over, a PC should never switch off or a machine stop in the middle of production.
This is why the MultiPlus II 48/5000/70 50 has the ultra-fast UPS function (uninterruptible alternating current). If there is an interruption in the power circuit, it takes less than 20 milliseconds for the batteries to activate and take over the power supply. How fast is that? The blink of an eye takes about 150 milliseconds. Electrical devices do not even notice that something is wrong with their power supply.
Furthermore, two separate outputs on the MultiPlus II 48/5000/70 50 ensure that the available emergency power is only supplied to important devices. This is because only the first output provides power from the MultiPlus II batteries. The second output only supplies power for as long as the PVA or generator is producing it. Essential or dispensable - you decide.
Conveniently configure and control the MultiPlus II
The MultiPlus II is easy to set up on the device itself. However, this is not necessarily practical, especially for large systems. That's why all settings can also be made remotely.
To do this, you simply need to connect the MultiPlus II once to a standard PC via the interface MK3-USB . The settings are then made via the Victron website or the in-house app. If you prefer to control your system via a permanently installed display, we recommend the main computer Cerbo GX plus the Touch 50 or Touch 70 display.
The MultiPlus II 48/5000/70 50 for public authorities: Emergency power for days
The emergency power supply for German authorities is prescribed by law - and the MultiPlus II 48/5000/70 50 is predestined for precisely this purpose.
This is because, compared to the basic MultiPlus device, it has particularly long-lasting energy storage. The maximum battery charging current of the MultiPlus II is up to 200 A, almost twice as much as its little brother. If several MultiPlus IIs are connected in parallel, this value multiplies again.
If the power grid breaks down and the operational readiness of an authority really matters, the MultiPlus II is the best partner.
The minimum recommended battery size should be at least twice the size of the MultiPlus. In this case, we recommend twice the E-BOX-48100R.
The MultiPlus II for industry: also suitable for energy-intensive operations
Thanks to its large batteries and high power output, the MultiPlus II 48/5000/70 50 is particularly suitable for industries with high energy requirements. And it is precisely here that the machines should never come to an unexpected standstill, because every job involves huge amounts of money.
To be on the absolutely safe side, up to six MultiPlus II can be connected in parallel. This multiplies the battery capacity and virtually eliminates the possibility of a blackout. The system becomes even more powerful when three MultiPlus IIs are configured as a three-phase output . An inverter output of 75 kW at 1,200 A charging current can then be achieved by connecting them in parallel.
