The heart of smart home technology: Which system is right for you?

Many paths lead to the goal. While hobbyists often rely on Raspberry Pi and Home Assistant, travelers who want to rely on their system need robust hardware that can withstand extreme conditions (heat, cold, vibrations). We distinguish between two main philosophies, which you can also combine with us:

1. the energy specialist: Victron Energy (GX series)

If your focus is 100% on electricity, solar and maximum self-sufficiency, the ecosystem from Victron Energy is the gold standard. The system is modular - you start small and expand as required.

• The Brain: The Cerbo GX (or the Ekrano GX) is the communication center. It collects data from solar controllers, charge boosters and shunts.
• The visualization: You can keep an eye on everything via the Ekrano GX or an external touch display.
• The highlight: the free VRM portal. This allows you to control and monitor your vehicle remotely as if you were on site. Error analysis by us? Often done in minutes via remote maintenance.

2. the all-rounder & integrator: Comworks CIS 3

You don't just want to watch electricity, you want to control the entire vehicle? The CIS 3 from Comworks is a powerful automotive server that merges infotainment (music, video) with vehicle technology.

• Integration: It talks directly to your heating system (e.g. Truma or Alde) via CI bus. No more extra control panels needed!
• Multimedia: It is also your media server for music and movies in the motorhome.
• Symbiosis: The CIS 3 can read data from the Victron system. So you have one interface for everything: heating, light, water and energy.

No more guesswork: precision sensor technology

A smart home system is only as good as the data it receives. Most factory solutions use cheap probes that calcify or display incorrect values when tilted. We upgrade to professional quality.

Supersense: check fill levels via app

Forget stick probes. Supersense sensors measure fill levels (fresh water, gray water, black water) capacitively from the outside or using a pressure sensor.

• Advantage: Accurate to the millimeter, no matter how crooked you are.
• Connectivity: Can be connected directly to the Victron Cerbo GX or CIS 3 via Bluetooth or cable.
• Also available for tire pressure and gas cylinders (no more sudden cold showers!).

RuuviTag: The wireless climate eye

Don't fancy pulling cables into the fridge or freezer? RuuviTag sensors are small, wireless pucks that measure temperature, humidity and air pressure.

• They automatically connect to the Victron system via Bluetooth.
• Ideal for monitoring in winter storage (mold prevention) or for the refrigerator while driving.

Connectivity: the gateway to the world

A smart motorhome needs a voice to the outside world. You need stable internet so that you can conveniently access your vehicle via app.

• Router: We recommend robust LTE/5G routers (e.g. Teltonika) that are built for vehicle use.
• Antennas: A good roof antenna is crucial to have reception even in the middle of nowhere.
• Remote access: You can access your data securely via the VRM portal (Victron Energy) or VPN tunnel.
