The SmartSolar MPPT RS solar charge controllers are Victron's solution for systems with large series-connected PV arrays charging 48 VDC battery banks. This product is perfect for large off-grid and grid-connected battery systems.

Available in a 5.76 kW and 11.52 kW model. Features include a wide 80-450 VDC operating solar voltage input, independent tracking inputs, full connectivity, isolated PV connections, display screen, fully programmable battery charging parameters and active cooling. The new metal housing design and fully covered electrical connections improve safety and modernize the presentation in line with Victron's latest product range.

MPPT: Ultra-fast maximum power point tracking

The SmartSolar RS solar charge controller connects to an 80 to 450 volt Voc PV array and efficiently charges your 48V battery bank at 100A or 200A. The charge settings are fully programmable and can be set for different battery chemistries such as lead acid, lithium and others.

Setup and monitoring with VictronConnect

The SmartSolar RS charge controller can be remotely controlled and configured via Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app. This enables the setup and management of devices and information at a glance, e.g. battery voltage and current, PV voltage and current, historical data and trends.

Additional units connected in series

The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with VE.Can bus connections. This enables communication with additional SmartSolar RS & VE.Can MPPT units. The additional units are simply "daisy chained" together with an RJ45 cable.

When connected, all individual charge controllers synchronize their charge levels. They can also send their data via the same cable to a GX device (such as the Cerbo GX) for monitoring.

Remote monitoring and control

When the GX device is connected to the internet, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) provides access to the full performance of your SmartSolar RS charge controllers.

If your installation is connected to a GX device and the internet, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) provides access to the full performance of your MPPTs, anytime, anywhere; free of charge.

For remote installations - even if there is no internet connection nearby - you may be able to monitor your MPPT by connecting the GlobalLink 520.

SmartSolar display

The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with a display on the front panel. The display shows battery voltages, charging current and voltages from both arrays individually, including instantaneous and total numbers as well as the device status including all possible error codes.

I/O connections

The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with a programmable relay and options for remote temperature and voltage sensing. The remote input can accept the Victron smallBMS and other types of BMS with charge permission signals.
