Beschreibung
Similar to the MultiPlus, the Quattro is a combined inverter and charger. Additionally, it can accept two AC inputs and automatically connect to the active source. Its many features include a true sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, hybrid PowerAssist technology, and several system integration features such as three-phase, split-phase, and parallel operation.

Two AC inputs and two AC outputs

The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC sources, such as shore power and a generator or two generators. The Quattro automatically connects to the active source. The main output has a no-break functionality. In the event of a mains failure or interruption of shore or generator power, the Quattro takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens so quickly (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices continue to operate without interruption. The second output is only active when AC power is available at one of the Quattro's inputs. This output can be used to connect loads that should not drain the battery, such as an air conditioner or water heater.

Unique PowerAssist function

The Quattro prevents overloading of a limited AC power source, such as a generator or shore power connection. First, the battery charge is automatically reduced when an overload would otherwise occur. The second stage increases the output of a generator or shore-side supply of power from the battery.

Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel operation

Up to 6 Quattros can be operated in parallel for increased power. Three-phase or split-phase operation is also possible. Please check our datasheets to see which models have parallel, three-phase and split-phase capabilities.

Remote monitoring and control

When used in conjunction with a GX unit (e.g. Cerbo GX), the free VRM app and Free VRM Portal website allow you to monitor and control your multi and system(s) locally (LAN) or remotely via the Internet from anywhere in the world. Access can be from a phone, tablet, laptop or PC running a wide variety of operating systems. There is no end to the control options, from setting up your Quattro to automatically starting a backup generator and more..."

FAQ

Victron Quattro 48V series: Maximum self-sufficiency and load control for demanding projects

Forget standard solutions when it comes to powering your property, farm or commercial infrastructure. You need a 48V-based system - the undisputed industry standard for highly efficient lithium storage systems. Your requirement is clear: you want to merge different energy sources such as the power grid and a backup generator into one intelligent unit that works absolutely faultlessly and fully automatically.

This is where the Victron Quattro 48V family takes over. As the most powerful partner in the Victron universe, the Quattro is far more than a simple inverter. It is the strategic head of your power plant, delivering power exactly where other systems have long since reached their physical limits.

What makes the Quattro 48V series a technical benchmark

  • Intelligent dual-source management: its greatest unique selling point. With two independent AC inputs, the Quattro manages the switch between mains power and generator completely autonomously and virtually without interruption.

  • Active load management (PowerAssist): Is your grid connection too weak for power-intensive appliances such as heat pumps or machines? The Quattro recognizes the bottleneck and adds energy from the battery in microseconds to absorb peak loads.

  • Seamless fail-safe operation (UPS): Blackouts are a thing of the past. The Quattro takes over the power supply in less than 20 milliseconds. Your sensitive technology simply continues to run - without data loss or restarting.

  • Optimized lithium integration: It communicates natively with the BMS systems of leading 48V storage systems (e.g. Pylontech, Voltsmile, BYD). This guarantees maximum efficiency and preserves the service life of your cells.

  • Scalability for professionals: From the solid 5000 VA base to the mighty 15000 VA power pack. Parallel connection or 3-phase configurations allow your system to grow with your requirements.

The power station: The Victron Quattro 48/15000/200-100/100

When "a lot" is not enough, the Quattro 48/15000 comes into play. It is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the series and is used where other systems would have long since capitulated.

Quattro 48/15000/200-100/100 - Verkauf-Bochum.de

The highlights of the 15kVA giant:

  • 12 kW of continuous power: With this beast, you can supply not just a house, but entire workshops or agricultural facilities. It can handle loads that are unattainable for normal inverters.

  • Extreme 200A charging power: That's a statement. When your generator is running, this Quattro pumps up to 10 kW of charging power directly into your batteries. This minimizes generator running times and saves massive amounts of fuel.

  • Enormous starting currents: With a peak output of 25 kW, it safely gets even the heaviest electric motors and compressors running, where smaller devices would immediately switch to "overload".

Stationary energy management: Why the Quattro 48V is the heart of your infrastructure

Anyone planning a 48V system thinks in terms of long-term infrastructures. The Quattro 48V is designed to control the complexity of these systems invisibly and absolutely reliably on three levels:

Level 1: The fully automatic network switch (input logic)

In stationary planning, flexibility is everything. Whether the electricity comes from the grid operator or from your backup generator - the Quattro acts as an intelligent switching station. It prioritizes renewable energies, uses the grid only when needed and starts the generator fully automatically in an emergency. All without manual intervention, all without flickering lights.

Level 2: The intelligent power boost (PowerAssist)

Modern large consumers such as heat pumps or electric car charging stations often push domestic connections to the limit. The Quattro 48V serves as a dynamic buffer here. It "supports" the weak grid with battery power as soon as demand exceeds your connection capacity. You make your power connection virtually stronger without expensive grid extensions.

Level 3: Strategic load prioritization (two AC outputs)

Real sovereignty means managing wisely in an emergency. The Quattro offers two separate AC outputs with different priorities:

  • Critical loads (AC-Out-1): Internet, lighting, heating and cooling are connected here. In an emergency, these devices are supplied with power in 20 ms without interruption.

With its PowerAssist function, the inverter and charger can contribute up to 15 kVA (i.e. 15000 / 230 = 65 A) to the output in times of high peak current requirements. This means: input power plus inverter power

  • Non-critical loads (AC-Out-2): Large loads (e.g. pool pump, sauna) are automatically disconnected in battery mode to save your valuable reserves for the essentials. This output is switched off in battery mode.

Technical deep dive: A direct comparison of the 48V models

In this table you will find the technical cornerstones of your planning. All models are designed for tough 48V continuous use.

The hard facts: What can the Quattro 48/15000/200 do for you?

Behind the technical data of the top model are real application possibilities for your project:

  • Continuous power (12 kW): This is your ultimate insurance for everyday use. A Quattro 48/15000 delivers 12,000 watts of continuous power - enough to supply an entire luxury home including all major consumers (kitchen, air conditioning, heating) at the same time.

  • Peak power (25 kW): The brute "starting torque". The Quattro 48/15000 can handle up to 25,000 watts for short periods. This is crucial when starting heavy industrial machines or massive compressors that draw enormous currents when switched on.

  • charging current (200 A): In a 48V system, this is a huge time advantage. 200 amps of charging current means that you can almost completely refill an empty 10 kWh battery in just one hour of generator running time. This saves fuel and spares the nerves of your neighbors.

  • Transfer switch (100 A): The load capacity of your "control center". With a capacity of 100 A, the Quattro can transfer a massive 23 kW of power from the mains directly to your consumers while charging the batteries in parallel for the next emergency.

Quattro or Quattro-II: Choosing the right control center

  • Victron Quattro-II 48/5000: The modern evolution. Slim, efficient and perfectly tailored to the current German grid standards (ESS system) in the home.

  • The classic Quattro bolides (8k to 15k): When maximum power and extreme robustness are required. These are the indestructible power packs for agriculture, industry and large stand-alone systems.

Who is the Quattro 48V built for?

  • Demanding homeowners: You want maximum independence with a large storage system and an additional emergency power generator for emergencies.

  • Agriculture & trade: You need to protect cold chains, milking systems or server rooms from any power failure with an absolutely fail-safe system.

  • Off-grid pioneers: You live far from the grid and rely on the sun and generator - the Quattro coordinates this interaction fully automatically.

The Victron ecosystem: your smart power plant

A Quattro only reveals its full intelligence as part of a team. It communicates seamlessly with the entire Victron cosmos:

  • Cerbo GX: The brain that monitors all energy flows.

  • SmartSolar MPPT: The charge controllers that harvest your PV energy highly efficiently.

  • VRM portal: Monitor your system worldwide in real time via smartphone or PC.

FAQs from the field: What you need to know about the Quattro 48V

Can a single Quattro 15000 operate a large air conditioning system (e.g. 60,000 BTU / 17.5 kW cooling capacity)?

Yes, absolutely. Such a system (often referred to as a "5-ton system" in the US) has an electrical input of approx. 5-6 kW. The 12 kW continuous output of the Quattro 48/15000 easily covers this load. Thanks to the massive peak load of 25 kW, it also masters the high inrush currents (LRA) during compressor start-up with ease. Nevertheless, we recommend the use of a soft starter on the air conditioning system to minimize the load on the entire system and increase the service life of the components.

How does the integration of the Cerbo GX with the Quattro 15000 work?

The connection is made simply by RJ45 cable via the integrated VE.bus port. The Cerbo GX acts as the indispensable brain of your system: it handles communication with the battery BMS, optimizes the charging curves in real time and enables you to monitor and control the system remotely from anywhere in the world via the Victron VRM portal.

Which LiFePO4 battery bank is ideal for a Quattro 15000?

As a Quattro 15000 can draw currents of over 300 A from the battery under full load, we recommend a capacity of at least 30 to 50 kWh. We prefer to use certified high-performance storage systems from Voltsmile or Pylontech, as these are designed for high discharge currents and guarantee a stable voltage even under extreme loads.

How do I connect three Quattro 15000s together for real 3-phase power (three-phase current)?

You install one device per phase and network them with the GX control center via VE.bus cables. After configuration via software, you will have a power station with 36 kW continuous output. The decisive factor here is absolutely symmetrical DC cabling (identical cable lengths and cross-sections) so that all units are loaded equally. We are happy to support you in such professional projects with an exact wiring diagram.
