Beschreibung

The MultiPlus-II combines the functions of the MultiPlus and the MultiGrid.

It has all the functions of the MultiPlus plus the option of an external current transformer to implement the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions and to optimize self-consumption with external current recording (max. 32 A).

It also offers all the functions of the MultiGrid with the built-in anti-islanding function and a growing list of countries in which it is approved.

Note: For a short period of time this product was called MultiGrid-II.

PowerAssist

The MultiPlus prevents a limited AC power source, such as a generator or shore power connection, from being overloaded. First, the charging process of the battery is automatically reduced to protect against overloading. Next, the output of a generator or shore power supply is boosted with energy from the battery.

ESS: Energy storage systems

The MultiPlus-II is a key component in a Victron ESS. It is very flexible and can be combined with an MPPT solar charger or a grid feed-in inverter for PV systems. Examples and further information can be found in the ESS (Energy Storage System) manual.

Uninterruptible alternating current (UPS function)

In the event of a grid fault or if the shore power or on-board generator is interrupted, the Multis inverter is automatically switched on and takes over the supply to the connected loads. The switchover happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed.

Remote monitoring and control

In conjunction with a GX device (e.g. Cerbo GX), you can use the free VRM app and Free VRM Portal website to monitor and control your Multi and the system or systems locally (LAN) or remotely via the Internet from anywhere in the world. Access can be via a phone, tablet, laptop or PC with a wide range of operating systems. There is no end to the control options, from setting up your Multi to automatically starting a backup generator and more..."

FAQ

Additional information

The integrated charger uses an adaptive charging function. This means that the MultiPlus-II recognizes the condition of your battery and automatically adjusts the charging process. This protects the cells and ensures a significantly longer service life for your storage system.

PowerControl & PowerAssist explained simply

Imagine you are on a campsite with a weakly fused shore power connection (e.g. 6 amps / approx. 1,300 W).

  • PowerControl: You set the MultiPlus-II to draw a maximum of 6 amps from the shore power. If you now charge your batteries and switch on a hairdryer at the same time, the fuse would blow. PowerControl notices this and automatically reduces the charging current for the battery to prevent an overload.

  • PowerAssist: Now it gets ingenious. Your coffee machine needs 1,500 W for a short time, but the connection only supplies 1,300 W. Instead of blowing the fuse, the MultiPlus-II intelligently "boosts" the missing 200 W from the battery. For the shore connection, it looks as if you will never draw more than the permitted 1,300 W.

More than just an inverter: the ESS and UPS function

The "II" in the name is the decisive upgrade. It turns the MultiPlus-II into a legal power station for your home.

  • ESS system (Energy Storage System): Thanks to the certified anti-islanding function in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4105, this device can be legally connected to the public power grid. It can therefore store your surplus solar power and feed it back into the household grid when required to avoid expensive grid consumption.

  • UPS function (uninterruptible power supply): If the public grid fails, the MultiPlus-II switches to battery operation in less than 20 milliseconds. Your computers, lights and other important devices continue to run without interruption.

  • Intelligent load management (AC-Out 2): The MultiPlus 2 has a second output that is specifically intended for non-critical loads (e.g. washing machine or e-car charger). This output is only energized when shore power or the mains is available. This ensures that only your most important devices (lights, internet, refrigerator) use the battery in the event of a power failure and that it is not immediately drained.

Grows with your requirements: From yachts to industrial operations

The MultiPlus-II 3000 is not only the first choice for home storage systems. It is used worldwide on yachts and in professional vehicles. The system has a modular design:

  • Parallel connection: you can connect up to six devices together to massively increase output.

  • 3-phase operation: For industrial applications or public authorities, three units can be configured to form a genuine three-phase system.

  • Massive power: Up to 75 kW inverter power or 1,200 A charging current is possible in the network - enough for entire office buildings or critical infrastructures.

Your system blueprint: what you really need for operation
