Solar charge controllers
A solar charger is supplied with energy via solar panels and then stores it in batteries. Using the latest and fastest technology, the SmartSolar maximizes this energy harvesting and intelligently directs it to fully charge the batteries in as short a time as possible. The SmartSolar maintains the battery's functionality, extending its life.
The SmartSolar charge controller will even recharge a severely discharged battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or otherwise damaged.
MPPT: Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking.
By continuously monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) modules, the technology of the MPPT ensures that all the energy that is available is truly being drawn from the modules and stored. The benefit of this is most noticeable when the sky is partially overcast and the light intensity is constantly changing.
Remote monitoring and control
You can remotely control and monitor the extensive features of your SmartSolar MMPT charger with integrated Bluetooth by pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect. If your system is connected to the Victron Remote Management Internet portal (VRM) via a GX device , you have full access to your MPPT anytime, anywhere. Both VictronConnect and VRM are available free of charge. For remote installations - even if there is no internet connection nearby - you may be able to monitor your MPPT by connecting to the GlobalLink 520 .
Load output
The 'Intelligent Load Output' feature prevents damage caused by using "dead" batteries. You can configure the voltage at which the SmartSolar will disconnect a load - preventing excessive discharge of your batteries. And here's the kicker: the SmartSolar tries to charge the battery back up to 100% every day. If that's not possible - bad weather, for example - it raises the disconnect voltage value every day until it succeeds. We call this function BatteryLife, because it keeps it working and extends the life of your battery.
