VE.Bus BMS V2

VE.Bus BMS and VE.Bus BMS V2 are battery management systems (BMS) designed to connect and protect one or more 12.8V & 25.6V Lithium Battery Smart batteries (LiFePO4 or LFP) in systems with Victron inverters or inverter/chargers with VE.Bus communication. It monitors and protects the batteries against over and under voltage of each individual cell and also against over and under temperatures.

Depending on the status of the battery(ies), the BMS:

  • Generate a pre-alarm signal to warn of impending cell undervoltage.
  • Deactivate inversion in VE.Bus inverters or inverter/chargers via VE.Bus and switch off other loads via the "Disconnect load" terminal in the event of a cell undervoltage.
  • Deactivate charging in VE.Bus inverters or inverters/chargers via VE.Bus and deactivate other chargers via the "Disconnect charging" terminal in the event of cell overvoltage, undertemperature or overtemperature.

The "original" VE.Bus BMS is best used in systems without a GX device.

The "next generation" VE.Bus BMS V2 has additional features such as:

  • Terminals for remote switching on and off.
  • Possibility to deactivate VE.Direct and VE.Can solar chargers via a GX device.
  • Possibility of controlling the VE.Bus inverter/charger from several devices, such as the Digital Multi Control, the VE.Bus Smart Dongle and/or a GX device.
  • Terminals for additional inputs and outputs that allow a GX device to remain powered in the event of a system shutdown.
